"Regulatory Guidelines for Ducts and Exterior Wall Penetrations" <Kitchen Exhaust and Ventilation>

Explanation of relevant laws, regulations, and ordinances regarding ventilation and exhaust ducts for houses and apartments, using diagrams! Introduction of our products that comply with regulatory standards.

The "Law to Partially Amend the Building Standards Act," which came into effect in June 2019, aims to encourage the replacement of buildings and houses with high fire prevention performance, and the building coverage ratio for "fire-resistant and quasi-fire-resistant buildings" in quasi-fire prevention areas has been relaxed by 10%. In light of the above Building Standards Act and recent amendments to the Fire Service Act, it is required to select products that comply with various regulations when choosing ventilation and exhaust ducts. This document provides a detailed explanation of various regulatory frameworks with illustrations, which can assist housing manufacturers and construction companies in making correct product selections. 【Regulatory Guide Table of Contents】 ◆ Ventilation Duct Wall Penetration ◆ Kitchen Exhaust Duct ◆ Fire Compartment Wall Penetration ◆ Ministerial Ordinance Quasi-Fire-Resistant / Ventilation Duct ◆ Company Overview * The "Regulatory Guide for Ducts and Wall Penetrations" can be viewed via the "PDF Download" link below.

Duct series that is difficult to leak air.

The leakage air volume is almost "zero" for the positive pressure duct "Non-Leak Duct" and for the negative pressure duct "Pita Joint Duct" used in high-pressure ventilation systems such as long-distance shields.

■Non-Leak Duct (for Positive Pressure) ●Non-Leak Duct (Packing Type) (Patent Application No. 2015-38261) Measured value φ2500 at 8kPa with a maximum leakage rate of 0.1m³/min (per one fastening connection point) Available in standard length of 10m for φ800 to φ2500 ●Small Diameter Non-Leak Duct (Patent No. 4917069) This is a duct for positive pressure. Air leakage is almost zero. With a leakage rate of 1/3700 compared to conventional ducts, it is an excellent air duct for long-distance small cross-section shield and tunnel ventilation. Available in standard length of 10m for φ300 to φ700 ■Pita Joint Duct (for Negative Pressure) This is a duct for negative pressure. Air leakage is almost zero even at -80kPa. With low friction resistance and excellent long-distance air delivery characteristics, it allows for significant energy savings and enables the use of a smaller blower. Compared to conventional steel pipes, the outer diameter of the joint section is smaller, allowing for space-saving installation. It offers excellent cost performance for methane gas exhaust, long-distance shields, small cross-section tunnel mechanical excavation, TBM, etc.

Fire-resistant and non-combustible ventilation duct 'Fuji Air Duct M' *Performance evaluation obtained

We are planning to hold a web seminar aimed at building homes that are resistant not only to fires but also to earthquakes and typhoons. It will take place on Friday, March 5, 2021, and participation is free!

"Fuji Air Duct M" is a fire-resistant duct coated with special glass fibers on the outer surface. Despite its thickness of 20mm, it has fire resistance comparable to the commonly used 50mm rock wool insulation. In addition to this, Fujimori Industries also offers non-combustible ducts and sleeves. If you are struggling with selecting materials that comply with fire-related laws and regulations, please feel free to consult us. Furthermore, we have organized a web seminar for house manufacturers! The theme is "Building Disaster-Resistant Homes," which includes not only fire but also earthquakes (vibration control and seismic resistance) and typhoons, allowing you to efficiently gather information in one go. 【Lecture Content】 ■ Regulations regarding ventilation ducts related to fire ■ Effectiveness of vibration control and market trends ■ Building disaster-resistant homes with screws ■ Improving seismic resistance using narrow load-bearing walls *If you are interested in our products, please view the catalog available for PDF download. *For information regarding the web seminar, please refer to the materials available for PDF download or feel free to contact s.ishikawa@tanakanet.co.jp.
